Creating configuration

Every logic related to caching behaviour, adding or modifying request/response, or any optimization settings are defined in a configuration. In other words, a configuration is the collections of settings which are applicable for a particular set of hostnames.

A single WebSonic.io account can have multiple configurations for different websites.

Adding a new configuration

To add a new configuration:

  1. Log in the dashboard.

  2. Click on New Config button at the top.

  3. Choose from one of the templates and give the configuration a name.

  4. Click Submit button at the bottom.

This will create a new configuration version for you and open up the configuration editor page.

Configuration version

A single configuration can have multiple versions. It allows you to experiment with different features and make changes without affecting the live production website.

Adding a new configuration version

When you first create a new configuration, a new version is created for you. You can create a new configuration version by cloning it.

Click on the clone button at the top, this will create a new configuration version from the current version and open the configuration editor.

Saving a configuration version

Click on the Save button at the top, it will save the current version so that you can come later and continue editing it.

Publishing a configuration version

You can publish a specific version in the staging environment for testing, or production environment for a live production website. Once published, either to staging or production, the version is locked and cannot be edited.
